This App Store Preview Video, built in both vertical and horizontal formats, was a first-of-its-kind project for New York Times Marketing. Storyboarding and planning for the video involved collaboration from many teams — from product design, to sound, to legal —, and took several months to execute.
Each beat focuses on one of NYT Games’ four most-popular games: Wordle, Spelling Bee, The Crossword, and The Mini. We showcased both the look and feel of gameplay for each game, as well as other overall app features, like sharing and leaderboards.
